December 22th, 2022 :    It's calendar time!

Le Carrouje has been expanded with a new area "Lez petits outieùs" in which you will find a tool to produce your own Welsh calendar in PDF format, which you can print out and add your annotations to.

Although we made it quickly, our tool is generic: if you want to see your country's holidays instead of the French ones, don't hesitate to send us this list.
    The tool allows you to create a standard calendar but with several options that will be very useful for a future fully customized calendar.

More detailed information can be found in the Carrouje in the presentation of the tool.

And of course, don't hesitate to contact us if you want other features, especially for the future customised calendar!

Good printing of calendars!

September 19th, 2022 :    Siences fuziqes e élijeriy

Physics are everywhere and they are the main driver of a thriving, sustainable, and resilient economy.

The original post, "Why Physics is essential to the Economy" was published in English by Gwenaëlle LEFEUVRE on her blog in support of her promotional activities with young people via the British organization SEPnet during her professional activity in Great Britain.

As the Gallo language knows perfectly how to grasp all the aspects of today's economic, scientific and technological life, we offer you the Gallo version "Siences fuziques e élijeriy" directly translated from English.

In this short post, you will find the very operational point of view of a physicist very involved in the European and Breton industrial world, particularly in high-tech SMEs.

When the site was launched in 2016, we produced a short presentation of the Gallo.

Today we have recast the old text into a General Presentation of the Gallo Language section to introduce a summarised history of the language and its recent evolution in Breton society.

As the Academy of Gallo is increasingly solicited not only by individuals but also by elected representatives, we have written these texts as simple but concrete arguments and above all without proselytism!

March 21st, 2022 :    The Gallo Dictionary continues to grow and expand

The whole "Trilingual Dictionary" system, architecture and contents, is evolving in an important way:

• data types will be better distinguished, including irregular feminines/masculines and/or plurals, external references, Gallo expressions;

• 2 new types of data are created: the compound words in Gallo and the themes to which the words can be related.
    Given the importance of this new type of data, the launch of the themes will be the subject of a later publication;

• the translation request screen has evolved for greater clarity: the translation criteria are displayed BEFORE the word to be translated is entered;

• In order to maintain a good level of search performance in a very high and constantly increasing volume, the "dictionary" modules are now unique and their French or English display is dynamic.
    All the couplings between the tools, conjugator, gallo school, carrouje, etc, have been updated.

Concerning the evolution of the current contents, their maintenance will be progressive while keeping a compatibility with the old formats.

Good use of our "Dictionary" services!

February 28th, 2022 :    The 1st part of the unpublished volume 3 of ALBRAM is online!

© Editions LABEL LN

The Atlas Linguistique et ethnologique de la Bretagne Romane, de l'Anjou et du Maine, better known by its acronym ALBRAM, is the result of a major CNRS project launched in the 1980s.

On 22 March 2021, volumes 1 and 2 of ALBRAM will be available online at the same time as their release in books.

As they did not wish to republish volume 3 of ALBRAM, Éditions LABEL LN nevertheless wanted this part to be accessible to as many researchers and language enthusiasts as possible.

In the same spirit of cooperation, you will find here the first part of this unpublished volume 3.
    We have taken advantage of this publication to make the navigation of the maps faster on the smartphone.

As the reading is free on our site thanks to the wish of the publisher, we urge the readers to support him in return by visiting the site of Éditions LABEL LN where you will find not only the 2 books but also a lot of books specialized in the languages of Brittany (Gallo and Breton), history, heritage and culture.

February 14th, 2022 :    Publication of Yves DONGUY's immense legacy begins

Yves DONGUY, who passed away in February 2020, was one of those Gallo language activists who worked discreetly but assiduously for the revival of our language.
    His work is the basis for a large number of publications on Gallo.

In his will, he bequeathed all his notes to the Bretagne Vivante association, which in turn, on the advice of Jean-Jacques MONNIER, donated them to the Academy of Gallo (see our news item of 30 June 2021).

After a project of expertise and valorization of this immense heritage, today we have the pleasure to put online a first part of Yves DONGUY's work.

February 07th, 2022 :    Maintaining a trilingual dictionary is an ongoing activity!

In order to meet the translation needs and to respond promptly to requests, we enrich the Gallo → French section every week.

However, as this part increases in volume, the time required to update the reverse and synonymous parts has become prohibitive in time.

We therefore started to develop new programs to determine which creations or updates would be reflected in the 4 parts of the dictionary (Ga→Fr, Ga→En and inverses).

Although the content of our Gallo dictionary is already the most comprehensive in existence and our system of services is unique (see the note "Les services Dictionnaire" in the Carrouje), we are continuing our efforts to increase the number of usage examples, illustrations and sound versions and we are exploring new features.

Good use of the Gallo Trilingual Dictionary!

January 24th, 2022 :    Do you really know Brittany?

In 2020, a small, dense and richly illustrated book was published, co-written by 18 authors chosen by Patrik MALRIEU and Jean-Jacques MONNIER, the creators of this ambitious project.

Each of these specialists, well known in Brittany, make us discover, in their respective field, the soul and the strong lines which make Brittany, its culture and its so particular character.

And among these specialists, we have the pleasure and honor to count Patrik DERIANO, our co-founder of the Academy of Gallo.

If we talk about this book again today, it is because it is a new powerful and modern tool at the service of all the defenders and lovers of the Breton culture and that we wish, via Le Carrouje (J'en som en eveilh) to share it again with all our readers in the World.
